No doubt about it, one of the best things about going to the boat show, is seeing or being introduced to new products or ideas that can help us enjoy or become more productive in our fishing. I am going to try and highlight a few things you might find of intrest at this year's show over the next week here in this mini series.
B&R OUTLAW RODS
It is always great to see a local company grow and succeed. The B&R Outlaw Rod Company was initiated in September of 2004, as a result of the overwhelming demand by both the weekend warrior & Pro Tournament anglers for a high quality, USA manufactured rod that could be purchased at an affordable price. They have achieved this goal and have become recognized as a great rod builder.
In designing the B&R OUTLAW RODS, they found the right combination and mixture of materials with the most up to date technology. They have had a lot of individuals and companies requesting a break down on how the “B&R OUTLAW RODS” are put together, but they believe that they have an edge and because of this they are not talking about the actual mixture of materials they are using in the development of the “B&R OUTLAW RODS” and / or how they are putting them together. But what they do say is that this right combination and mixture of materials has given them the edge in the market as it relates to a custom U.S.A. made rod. The B&R Outlaw Rods are made in the U.S.A., they are not imported blanks.
Since this company is based in the Metro East St Louis area the Midwest fishermen were some of the first to become aquainted with these rods. The B&R Outlaw Rods were designed to handle the stress of hard fishing in rough conditions, light in overall weight, balanced at the reel seat, very-very sensitive, they have a great back bone (for the big ones), and a responsive / sensitive tip. They have sold thousands of these rods to both the average fishermen and also to the tournament fishermen, who wanted a great rod for an outstanding price, which is a fraction of the price of any other name brand rod that would even be close to what the “B&R OUTLAW RODS” have to offer. They use the Fuji New Concept “Alconite” eyes and the Fuji exposed blank reel seats, which have more then proven themselves. The B&R Outlaw Rod blank extends throughout the entire handle, which adds to the sensitive of the rod. All the B&R Outlaw Rods are one piece rods, even their current 7’6” rods.
