White River Fishing Report 01/26/10-02/02/10
We at the Mar Mar Resort and Tackle wishing you and yours a great fishing vacation in the Ozarks.
They have been running water for a while. 7 generators running this morning. Normal pool is 654.000 on 02/01 the lake was at 654.64 right at normal pool. With the variance in the generation at the Bull Shoals Dam you need to be aware and be prepared for different water conditions at all times. The number to call for generation report is 870-431-5311. A lot of real nice fish are being caught and it is more important than ever to get a professional guide for the river. They know how to navigate in all water conditions and they know the holes where the fish are stacked. If you have questions call me and ask 870-445-4444. Always have personal flotation devices on board and in hazardous conditions they should be worn. If your not familiar with the river get a licensed/insured guide or guide service for your fishing needs.
!!!!! Also remember 02/01/10 starts the time period where the catch and release area changes back to the normal area which is 100 yds below the dam to the sign located just above the hard tent camps at the top of the state park.

Now that we are in range of normal pool we could see some variance in the generation levels. The weather has warmed and great fishing has been enjoyed by all that have gone on guided fishing trips. With the changing water conditions be sure to get a guide that knows the river in all water conditions. Looks like another great week to be on the river. Some nice quality Rainbow, Cutthroat, Brook, and larger Browns were caught this week, We always advocate the catch and carefully release of good spawning fish. Help protect our fishery. Measure length and girth and get a couple of good pictures and a great looking replica can be made

If you are spin casting, With generation, it is a little harder to feel the bite when it occurs. Keep the slack out of your line to feel it better. Sculpins, Shrimp, Nightcrawlers, Fl Yellow Powerbait, and Pink Powerbait Worms are getting hit hard. Stick Baits and Rouges in shad and clown patterns, CD 7's and CD 9's in G, S, and BTR are doing very good. Flatfish in silver, gold or Krocodiles in various colors, Maribu, and Chrome Domes have been catching also. Berkley Power worms in pink, red, white and bubble gum, Nitro Trout Worms in Bubble Gum, red, pink/white and yellow, Buoyant spoons in trout, watermelon, and firetiger. Some Krocodiles and Copy Cats, Little Cleo's in Silver, or silver/gold, working a J-9 Jointed Rapala in trout, brown trout and shad patterns are doing very well with proper presentation. Trophy Browns are being caught at night when the generators are shut down. J-9 jointed Rapalas, and topwater Rogues and Zara Pups have been doing very good on catching these.
